T180 Chip/panel Filter

Hi,

I posted previously about the CR powerbox but think I may need to angle my question differently. Does anyone have any experiences good or bad fitting any kind of chip or tuning box to their T180. As stated previously my priority is better fuel consumption. The second part of my post is to ask if anyone knows where I can get a performance panel filter for my car as I have not had much luck in finding anywhere that stocks them even though K&N do manufacture one.

Any advice is appreciated.

Try searching for the word "VENOM" for tuning box.

I have one on my T180 and have done about 700 miles now with it on.

Car does seem to go now like it should have done from day 1 !

As far as improving fuel economy goes, mine does seem a little better than it was (either that or I am trying harder to improve the fuel economy!) Getting about 42.5 mpg average with a mix of town and dual carriageway driving.

On a long journey (say 200 miles) I could get 46 mpg before fitting the Venom box. :o

Some would say I drive too slowly, but I don't !!

i have fitted a diesel tuning systems unit with good results better performance and more mpg, very easy to fit .

the unit seems to be the same as venom and spider units as diesel tuning systems appear to make all three types, this also makes it slightly cheaper than the others.

I've looked at both web sites and as far as I can see the two are different companies. Certainly the Spider unit from Diesel Tuning looks as though it does constant remapping whereas the Venom unit doesn't.

I was thinking of a Venom Unit but I think I prefer the constant Economy/Sport remapping of Diesel Tuning' Spider - and it's a £100 cheaper this week - so I just bought one - about £355 inc VAT, delivery and discount.

Be careful though the Diesel Tuning ordinary system is not the same as the more advanced Spider system.

Poking around the Diesel Tuner System site I came across: "21.07.07 Diesel Tuner Systems appointed Manufacturer for Venom™" so I guess the units are different.
