Anyone Have A Verso With The Dvd System ?

Hello

I bought an 05 plate Verso T-Spirit recently with the DVD system installed. I have had a problem with the remote control to the system in that the only buttons that work are the 8 blue buttons at the bottom that control functions for the screen. None of the DVD buttons (power, play, stop or any others) work. To turn the player on and play a DVD i have to crawl down under the seat to get to the player.

The Toyota dealer have said thats what they all do, and they think that none of the DVD buttons work on any DVD system for the Verso's. I have told them I think this is ludicrous.

Can anyone who has a Verso with the DVD system (either newer or similar age) let me know if your remote works for DVD functions (like play, pause and stop) so i can tell the dealer how to do their job ?

I have noticed that by retailers (including car dealers) there seems to be some misconception that if “they all do that” then there is nothing wrong and it is OK! (it’s not a bug it’s a feature!).

The idea that this means that they are all wrong and that there is a big problem that needs to be fixed ASAP some how doesn’t seem to get through.

My argument was that if there is a massive section in the manual telling you how to use the DVD function buttons then they must work. Ridiculous.
