Am Radio Interference

Me again!!

With my radio tuned to an AM station (Radio Five Live) I get interference on the signal, particularly when I accelerate. The aerial is plugged in fully and FM stations are fine. Does anyone know what might cause this?

Thanks for you help.

There used to be a similar fault with the Citroen Xantia, the problem with them was the aerial cable from the roof aerial to the radio. Don't know exactly what went wrong with the cable but it was a common fault and was cured with a new cable. Was a bit of a pain to fit to original position so common practice was to cut as much of the old one off as you could get to easily and run the new one down the passenger side pillar and behind the dash. (original was down the drivers pillar and behind the instrument panel)

It seems that the AM band is the first to suffer from a poor aerial signal so yours may be something similar, either the aerial itself or the cable.
