Hi,

i have my Augo for almost a year. My fuel consumption is very high.

So i was wondering, if any of the members on this forum, can answer me, is it possible for the 1.0 liter; 3 cylinder motor on the Aygo, the fuel consumption to be approximately 9.5l / 100km? :censor:

Thank you.

seems very high, check you are not calculating with usa gallons and you don't have a hole in the fuel tank! :D

how are you driving?, four people, up steep hills at 7000 rpm??

I'm from Europe and use metric system. Driving alone, not up hills. Maybe a little bit in heavy traffic, but nothing extreme.

Looks very high, I'm getting around 4litres per 100km

9,5l/100km? That's 10,5km/liter (older denomination) or 29,73MPG (imperial) that IS quite high...

29 MPG is extremely poor. I have tried driving to extremes with my Aygo and the worst that I can get is 42 MPG. Going to the other extreme gave me 64 MPG

I have heard of engine CPUs going into a default mode when a critical sensor goes faulty. It is usually noticeable by sluggish performance. I would have it checked out or at least have a quick look and see if any cables are hanging off (e.g. the oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold). If you're dumping unburnt fuel into the exhaust you could damage the catalytic converter.

Most garages can plug a scanner into your Aygo's diagnostic connector and get an instant readout of fault codes.

Hope you sort it out, good fuel economy is one of the attractions of these cars.

Wouldn't the CPU detect that and turn on the CEL/MIL (Check Engine Light / Malfunction Indicator Light)???

AFAIK it SHOULD light when the car goes into "limp-home-mode"...

The worst economy I've achieved in the past two years was 1:14, or 39,55MPG imperial.

But that was on a 100mi run on which I intentionally floored the car to see how thisty I could make it :D

Its not outright speed or revs but stop-start city nonsense with short distances and cold engines that kill my mpg

That red section on the revcounter is not where you have to change gear ... you can change up before that ;) :D

That does sound a low value though, I'd get the car checked over.

I've already taken the car to Toyota dealer before and they've changed the part that makes the fuel and air mixture. But, obviously, that didn't help.

Thanks for the replies.
