have a previa 2.4 when it starts its on 3 cyclinders and grey/blue smoke then it goes on to 4 cyc and shorty aferwards the smoke stop`s doesn`t use that much water if any or oil but pretty heavey on petrol any idears thanks rich :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :help:

Grey/Blue smoke is typically oil. You say it does not use much and therefore I would surmise that your valve stem seals are going. Overnight these will allow oil from the head to seep into the combustion chamber and wet the spark plug. This would explain the starting issue. Sounds like you need a top end overhaul which depending on the mileage would not be a bad thing. Easy enough to do yourself if you have another car. DO NOT RUSH a top end job.

They are all heavy on gas but tuned properly and driven correctly will easily achieve 22mpg arond town and 26-28 on the open road.
