If anyone could care to give me some tips on how to get said sound file, im all ears...

digital recorder of some sort or ya can do it with a digi cam if ya have one that records sound and video clips

3 methods that I know of. Maybe there are others, but it's not my speciality:

1. Use a DV video camera to record. Strip the audio out of the file and save.

2. Some digital cameras (e.g. Canon) & PDAs allow making voice memos that can be saved to disk as sound files

3. Otherwise you'll need a tape recorder. Record the sound. Connect the line out or the headphone output of the tape recorder to the line in or mic input of your computer (you'll need a cable with jacks at each end). Depending what version of Windows that you have you can then record the sound using "Sound recorder" or something similar.
