Tax Disc Holder

does anyone know why my taxdisc holder has a wire coming out of it and going behind the dashboard. the holder is broke and keeps falling of the window so went to replace it and found this. ive got a 53 reg t spirit d4d

Just cut the wire and remove. Presuming you don't use the car phone aerial. Otherwise, trace the wire down behind the dash to its destination (probably just to a loose end) and take the whole wire and holder out. You may need to remove the glove box to see where it goes.
