Toyota Clutch Kits

Did anyone realise that toyota clutch kits were remanufactured units? Went to get one for my dads starlet and the **** behind the counter said they were recon units.

I think this applies to the corolla as well. In any case I'm going to try and get an LUK clutch, not so keen on blueprint as i've never heard of them before.

anyone had any issues with them?

No issues with my blueprint clutch. Admittedly I've only covered about 250 miles, but it has bedded in well and feels really smooth. The guy at the shop I bought it off was really keen on BluePrint and said they had an excellent reputation for quality.

How many hours labour did you get charged for in the end minimarc?

from toyota the TS kit is £177+VAT

i called my local factors who said they had an LUK clutch for my car, my dad picked it up and its actually Blueprint branded, although i paid £89.99 inc for it, which is like half the price of the Toyota version.

Happy so far only run the car for 2 days on it but its bedding in nicely so far.

i paid £150 to my garage dude (toyotech oldham) he fitted the clutch, the front motormount insert at the same time.

all in for £240 mate! originally i expected £300~£400. if you had it ALL done by toyota dealer i think it would come in at just over £500 inc VAT, so im pretty pleased i got it done for half price effectively.

having done a bit of surfing, it appears blueprint are just box marketers, they are buying their goods from the far east and putting htem in blueprint boxes. Ever since i was a little kid i always wanted borg and beck! seems as though they have gone bust. balls.

That was a good price. I remember i priced that job at Jemca before, they wanted like 700 or 800, good year and a half ago. This was on a car i was looking at buying.

It cost me £300 labour inc some new gear box oil. But on top of the clutch I also had a new flywheel fitted as well as a clutch master cylinder and a clutch slave cylinder.
