well i've had them painted now since about 10:30 and its not even touch dry!!!

if it ain't done before tonight, the white spirits may come out and wipe it all off!!!!!

only done 1 caliper and started at 10:00 this morning!!!!

its well thin and doesn't run when you apply it then when you come back in half an hour and its started to dry it starts to run, as if its thickened up!!!! what weird stuff!!!!!

it looks awesome tho its just not drying!!!!

so no chance of applying my decals yet

Does it say anything about heat curing after application on the tin/bottle?

As brake discs get really hot when in use, I would have thought that proper caliper paint would need curing in an oven or similar.

Just thinking out loud, ignore me if I'm waffling

i did mine recently silver calipers and it took time to dry, i used Halfords paint first time and it dried very quickly but i did it in the summer, because of the cold and damp it may take longer so best bet is to be patient ;)

So called caliper paint from anywhere IS a CON (not just 'All-frauds'!).

I myself have used Humbrol enamell -yep...the paint you used to do model kits with when you were an 'urchin'.

You will have to do at least 2-3 coats and it will NOT flake.

Unfortunately it will have to be re-done every 12-18months to maintain a certain 'gloss/sheen' - this would have to be done regardless of what ever paint you chose, due to heat build up etc.

yeah i've heard people using that!!!

i've had to give it 3 coats to get it good!!!

a quarter of the way there!!!

Yep - I've been happy with Humbrol on brake calipers (and drums - and I mean drums all round regards some of the motors I run / I have run!) for past 20+ years ;)

Looking good!

Where'd you get the decals from?

Cheers!!

I got them from eBay, i emailed a seller asking if he could do them and after about 2 weeks of discussions and sending pictures and editing pictures we got a bigenough resolution for him to make so all good.

the seller is called ubernine and the guys name who you want to get in touch with is Adam. Very helpful chap

ea_10.JPG

the colour chart he uses

he does them in all different decal colours and i think they cost me somewhere around 7.50 delivered (but don't quote me) this includes 3 big stickers for the front, 5 medium stickers for the rear and 5 smaller stickers for any where else or for the rear. they are the right sizes for t-sport calipers as i had to measure them up etc and i think they look very big!!!

now you can see why i did my calipers yellow afetr all the mocking lol

Might order some grey ones...

Been thinking of re-doing my calipers as the paint has flaked slightly.

Not sure whether to stay with grey or go with something different

Did absolute wonders to my old punto sporting calipers!!!

Overhauled and uprated all the seals and pistons and coat the body's in high spec aircraft grade polymer paint (as used on aircraft wheels and brake packs)

Whilst that looks good, it'd make driving my car very interesting with no brakes whilst they painted them!

unfortunately thats the only way to get a really good finish if you paint over any oxidation at all it'll cause the paint to peel or flake at a later date!!!

If your gonna do it do it right first time!!!!
