Does anyone know if a sunroof out of a Corolla GL/Executive will be the same as the one in a GTI? Its hard to get hold of a decent one nowadays...

Not much use to you I'm afraid, but I'll be looking for one shortly, as mine is starting to rust.

I have tracked down a crowd here in Ireland who will make up one from scratch & install it. I haven't got a price for the job yet. Very unlikely that you would get one in a Scrappies, as they have gone on them all. I was thinking of a see through tinted one, & cure the problem for ever.

Someone, who mightn't know,suggested that a Carina one should fit.

according to the EPC the part number is the same for the 5dr GLi and the 3dr GTi so would guess yes
