Just saw this, thats a lucky dog:

LuckyDog2.jpg

The one-year-old stray dog was hit by driver Marco Menozzi, who confessed he did not even stop when he clashed with the pooch.

But Mr Menozzi hit the dog at such speed that it became embedded in the grille under the bonnet of his car.

It lay trapped in the Peugeot 207 and managed to cling on until the car eventually stopped 15 miles further on.

Miraculously, the pup survived the ordeal, escaping with just a broken leg and bruising.

It is now in a police kennel looking for a new owner.

A police spokesman said: "He's a very lucky boy. He was saved because he was hit so hard.

"Any softer and he would have bounced off the car and been crushed under the wheels."

Mr Menozzi had been driving at 70mph on a side road in Cozze, southern Italy

What kind of person does not stop after hitting any animal?

a) to see if the animal has survived the impact or b ) if its to far gone...put it out of its misery or take it to a vet or local police station and they "hopefully" will deal with it.

What a sadist!!!!

I will never forget when I hit a rabbit on New Years day a few years ago......Pulled over, rang Boro Sera up in tears, shaking like a leaf, I felt so bad for the rabbit, it was definitely a goner...no Happy New Year for that poor bunny.

What a lucky dog.....

I cant believe that this guy hit a dog and did not stop thats so cruel. Perhaps he did not know what he hit, which in many ways makes it worse that he did not stop. The fact that he hit anything at 70 mph and did not stop is ridiculous. Thats got to be careless driving or something worth a slapping

Just goes to show that speed saves lives!

My thoughts exactly

& to think, I used to travel around residential areas slower than 70 mph :o
