was in the car park at college and i noticed a weird mark on my bonnet, i thought it was finger prints so i went to rub it off..

it seems as if there is a massive group of air bubbles underneath the lacquer, im not a happy bunny as this car is brand new (since friday 14th)

going to be taking it back to toyota today (thursday) and see what they have to say.

also, how do you turn the passenger air bag off for child seats?

Post some pictures here before you go to the Toyota. ;)

In order to turn the passenger side airbag...

1. Open the passenger side door.

2. There is a lock with stickers near the door hinges, showing where to turn your key like on/off.

3. Use your key and turn it off. ;)

sorry didnt see your post before i went,

they said that the protective film which was on it while it was being transported got moisture under it and fused with the paint.

apparently it will come off with some heat lamps.

its booked into the body shop on thursday, better turn out good :P

Ah, no worries. I'm glad that it is the protective film, easy to fix or replace; compared to the paintwork. :)

It is the actual paintwork that gets marks on it. When the cars are delivered to dealerships they have white plastic film stuck to them to prevent stone chips etc.

Sometime when the plastic is removed and the car polished you can see these patches in the paint.

As said above, heating the areas will sort out the blotchyness no problem :)

Mart.
