Hands-free Kit - New Phone, New Cradle

Recommended Posts

I have the centre mounted wired in handsfree set up in my 2005 verso - this is the kit where you have one unit wired in through one of the cup holders, and then clip-in cradles that can be changed to suit your particular phone.

I had the one for my phone thrown in when I bought the verso - but now I'm changing phone, and (being unable to return to the dealer I last used), am struggling to describe this cradle to other dealers so I can get a price (their system just keeps giving them various bluetooth kits and things, no list of cradles for phone models.

Anyone here know of either a list of these things, or a more techy part-name I should be giving them to search for?

Hi it sounds like the THF series http://www.toyota.co.uk/bv/OwnerServices/HandsFree.pdf

Toyota have moved with the technology progress which is why your getting told about bluetooth, I like you bought a Verso (with a THF25 fitted), the dealer printed me out a list of the different plug in modules needed. Again because this system is "old hat" the list is somewhat limited as it does not include modern phones. Plug in module costs start at £62.42 and go up to £120. Assuming you have a cradle included remove it from the car (button on right, then slide forward and lift up from back), a reference number is on the underside, last 2 characters are for phone make, eg:

BB Blackberry

ER Sony Erricson

MR Motorola

NK Nokia

QT Qtek

SS Samsung

SP Sharp

SM Siemens

If you give me your full ref no I can tell you what phone it is for and if you tell me what phone you would like I can tell you if it is on the list and what ref no it uses.

Regards
