Parrot Hands Free Kit - Sot Lead?

Recommended Posts

Wondered if someone can help me...

I just bought a Parrot Hands Free Kit from Halfords, who told me that no SOT lead was necessary because the car was already ISO compatible. Spoke to Parrot who said the same thing...however the company installing the product still insist that one is necessary? Does anyone know whether I need one or not, and if so, where I can get hold of one?

Many Thanks

I've installed a couple of Parrots in other cars and have installed an aftermarket radio in my Aygo:

NO adapter lead or harness is necessary at all. The only point of attention is that the power-feeds

in the ISO-plugs are swapped, meaning you have to swap the ends of the Parots' fuse holders.

But this is described in the manual...

The only thing I can imagine they would want to add wires for is muting the radio,

but this is something the Parrot does by switching the Speakers over itself anyway

and the mute-function on the OEM radio is no more than that: a mute.

On most modern radio's the mute-line also pauses a playing CD or iPod,

the factory radio doesn't, so there's no real need to wire the signal up...

If the installer really insists they need an extra lead I'd search for another installer...
