Hi All,

Ummm... HELP !!!

I started the car this morning and she nearly didnt start, the revs were

going right down to 100rpm then would bounce back to about 1k rpm.

My dashboard looks like a x-mas tree with the TRC/VSC and engine management light on!

She does drive but l took it very very easy to work this morning, l had no problems

at all last night she drove fine.

When running now she's running 300-350 rpm higher then normal on idle and seems to

be running very rich as well.

The oil was changed about 8K ago so needs doing, air filter about 1K ago and sparks

about 8K ago.

Does anyone have any ideas before l take it to Mr T and get my wallet violated.

Many many thanks in advance !!!!

sounds like a maf sensor problem to me. have a look from the air filter past the sensors and check for anything loose or disconnected.

Thanks nrgizerbunny l will have a look before l leave work tonight.

Is it worth cleaning the MAF sensor if all the wires etc are plugged in and tight?

Or take it to a garage and hook the car up and find out what error code it is.

EDIT - Just managed to have a look at the air filter and checked all the connections they all seemed fine as well as the vacum pipes were in ok. Started her up and still the same. It starts then imediatly goes to 100 rpm then back up again almost like it chokes when starting then comes back to semi normal idle still idling high. And my dash is still an xmas tree lol

Could this be bad fuel ? As l didnt have any problems yesterday.

UPDATE

Just took it to a garage and got the error codes off the ECU

P0505 - Idle air control system

C1203 - Engine control system comm circut

C1246 - Fault in master cylinder pressure sensor

We cleared the error codes off the ECU and then l took it back from the garage and it drove fine no lights came up (gave it a little beans and no loss of power or pulling etc)

Parked it for about 5 min then started her up again and she stared normally with no error lights :D So im crossing my fingers that it could be an ECU gremlin !!!

Im going to let it cool right down then start her again and prey my dash doesnt become a xmas tree again.
