My 'Oil Level' warning light is on (constantly - not flashing) yet the oil levels in both locations (under the bonnet and under the passenger seat) are fine.

What could be the problem and is the car safe to drive in the meantime?

Thanks

The oil warning lamp goes on usually when:- 1 low oil Pressure which could damage the engine

(faulty oil pump or wear and tear)

2 Oil switch shorted

3 defective oil lamp wiring possibly frayed and shorted

4 low oil level

5 Oil filter blocked or valve within the filter stuck closed

6 you may have a faulty dipstick sensor

Go and get it checked by a qualified mechanic as it might cost you a lot of money.
