Need Help Replacing A Front Wiper

Hey there all!

This may seem like a silly post.....

I have bought a new front wiper and would like to install it,

But how do i get the old wiper off the arm of the wiper? and how do i get the new wiper on?

I have managed to get the back one replaced for a w22 in Halfords.

that was childsplay, the front one is a bit more complex than i realsed lol

If you stick your finger under the middle of the wiper blade where it attaches to the car you should feel a little clip. It's just a case of pressing that up and the wiper should slide off.

As far as fitting a new one is concerned it should just be a case of reversing that. IE sliding the new blade into the arm until it clicks. One tip I can give you though is that on some 'universal' branded blades like the Bosch ones that Halfords sell, I've found it easier to pop out the little little clip from the new blade, insert that on the wiper arm first, and then clip the blade back into it. This is because the wiper arm on the Aygo doesnt raise up off the windscreen by more than a few inches and I've found that there isn't quite enough room to get the new blade back on. Either that or I was being a spaz.

You can only lift the front arem for about 4"...

Pull the arm up from the windshield, then look at the end of the arm,

this is curved back and a plastic clippy-thingie is in there holding the blade.

On this clippy-thingie there's a small clip/lever that you push in while pushing

the entire blade towards the hinge (away from the end of the arm).

The hook should come free of the clippy-thingie and your wiper is off.

Installing the new blade is the reverse of the above...

Thanks to your help, and assistance i have successfully changed my front wiper!! woop woop!

so now my little aygo is all wipered out with a bigger rear wiper (w22) and a Bosch front one!

Is the Bosch one any better than the standard item, I find the front wiper leaves streaks.

Mine left streaks too, so I replaced it with a flatblade.

Cost me a bit more, but wipes better and lasts longer than the OEM did...

Got a Bosch one on the front of mine (got from Halfords). It's ok, but I cant honestly say if it's really any better. Fitted about a month or so ago, and it started off fine, but now leaving streaks. But it's probably due to the fact that I've had naff all chance to clean the car in ages.
