Tte Backbox

hi i just bought a tte backbox for £25 off eBay LOL

problem is that its for the pre facelift 1.4 and 1.6 models. and i have a facelift 2005 1.6 corolla.

does anyone have any ideas on how i may be able to fit this on?

parts king told me that it wont fit my car but he also said that the prefacelift tsport tte backboxes wouldnt fit the facelift tsports....and they did!

so any ideas? would i need to do some extra welding etc etc.??

thanks

If you don't get the answer then just head to your local exhaust centre and ask one of the lads to do it and see what happens! Act daft when they say it wont fit and ask why, then listen intently and then get it sorted. :)

Or get lucky and hope it goes straight on :o

lol i will do. but i have heard that ppl get the exhaust welded on if the pipe sizes are different...is thta ok to do? would it reduce power cause problems or anything??

You can get it welded on not a problem i did it on my old car they charged me 35 quid to do, basically the only thing that is different is the size of the piping. You can ask a garage to cut the original exhausts clamp and then weld it to the piping of the tte exhaust, that way it will be clamped nicely.

so are the differences between the different versions only piping?

farhanali says they are usually the same but just different pipings.....if thats the case i can get it sorted for free from someone i know who does all this mechanical crap lol

i mean if farhan could get a tsport backbox fitted onto a t3 by doing some extra welding im sure i can do the same with the one i bought right

Anything is possible provided you know someone who is good at 'mechanical crap' ;)

lol

well the guy has his own garage he does mechanical jobs for ppl and for me he does it free! :D

he is the one who sorted out my front lip which was badly damaged when i bought it from a member here. fixed the cracks up and everything!

im sure a little welding job will be a peice of cake for him.

i was cheking out kearons youtube videos of his backbox and man does it sound sick! nice rumble and not stupidly loud but just enough to give it a sporty sound :D

hold your horses billy boy!

i am not getting ANY intake except for an APEXI...no K&N, no blitz, no powertec, no green, no nothing.

APEXI or nothing! thats my motto :D

i dont want a crappy oil filter which will mess up after a while. i prefer a dry no maintainence cone. also according to norfolk its the best thing since sliced bread. and i like that! :D

I dont think "Crappy" is the best description i have never had an issue with these type of filters, any how you dont want to pay for an Apexi so if its APEXI or nothing why are you looking at Panel Filters!!!

cos i was thinking i can get a panel filter first which will do for now. and then once i have the money i will get an apexi!!!! :D

double the filteration :P

well i use to own a oil filter a pipercross one which sounded sick and did a nice job but after a while the oil started leaking out and causing problems. and i use to clean the cone regurarly, so i have lost all faith in oil filters and therefore call them crappy :D

well there are other options.

personally im going to get the Fujita Short ram Intake for a US 05 Corolla XRS on import.

as per panel filters, the Blitz LM panel is dry...the green cotton is dry....its only K&N and a few others who have oily carpish filters.

the rest are okay? unless you know something i dont?
