Jim,

I reckon you would be better off going to an small independant or a place that fit gear like PowerFlow Exhausts rather then a Kwik Fit - some of these big chains are so ruled by their head office rules they may not have the wherewithall to fit anything out the ordinary

IMHO, anyway :)

You in here again?

But i do agree! :P

I avoid Kwik Fit at all costs (bad experience)

A local independant would prob be your best bet

Likewise, the TTE back box for the T Sport sits wonky for some reason

Mine thankfully, had been modified to make it straighter

Really easy to modify...... it had been done before i bought the CTS!

I know Key's (-T- Sport) is wonky so i'll have a good look when we meet up to see what the difference is.

lol grr lucky you then!

well im going tomorow i will make sure they make it sit straight.

if its wonky i will tell them that they havent fit it properly and then they will be forced to fix it :D

Its only wonky if you look at it

If the welder is coming out for fitting then getting it straight should be fairly easy. :)

The tte sounds like a great exhaust and all those who have them will say yes and i really want a exhaust that will sound like the descriptions every1 has said but im just not keen on the two tail pipes id rather the single one and im very tempted to get a full system but dont want that chavvy sound i know most custom shops can tune the noise which im relying on really.

Also i think our system now is a 2.25" correct me if im wrong, would i get any gains by increase the system to a 2.5" or mayb 3" or is that impossible!! I really dont have a clue, cheers

ye i thought about a full custom job but in the long run i decided that the sound would just get annpying especially on long journeys so i chose to get the tte backbox which gives a nice sporty sound. isnt stupidly loud but enough to make heads turn.

you can get custom exhausts tuned to lower the sound by padding the box inside so that is an option for you.

the tte backbox is 3inch dual exits...and the gains would be close to none i think cos its just a backbox you wouldnt expect much out of it. maybe 2-3bhp at best.

so i just got back from my local mechanics and they said they are able to do the job for 40quid IF it actually fits on straight.

if the extra welding is required which the guy said he can do no problem then its another 40quid on top = 80quid total....does that price sound fair? i thought its a little overpriced cos when i had a backbox fitted before with old car they charged me 30quid.

im gonna go shop around see what other guys say. otherwise i will be going on friday to get this baby fitted on :D

it will finaly be out of my bedroom....oh the memories....LOL

sounds over the top to me TBH.

I paid £20 for a straight exchange fitting that also needed new bolts and clamps just 3 months ago - your boys want double that and then £40 on top if they have to break their brains into a sweat

And at another place, got a complete new S/S system supplied and fitted for the HR-V for about £250 which had to be custom-done, not one off the shelf.

Speak of the devil im getting a full exhaust system fitted today 2.5" with a single exit tail pipe, will hopefully get a video of it over the weekend. Cost in the region of £300 which i think is good and they are going to make sure the exhaust system only growls when it go over 3.2k revs
