Numberplate Light

Hey All

Had a problem with the numberplate light on our Yaris - it likes working intermittently but more often than not. We know it's not the bulbs & my other half does get it working again but I was wondering if anyone else had ever had a problem with theirs?

Everytime I see a Yaris I look to see if the numberplate light is working and all the others that I've seen do!

Just to reiterate, I am purely wondering if anyone else had had a problem. I know the light is needed and all that before anyone starts giving me that!

Cheers

Tina

Not something I've ever seen/heard of.

Don't want to go off topic but what I notice about a lot of Yaris is the rear wiper sitting well out of position, either hanging down or stuck half way up the window. I'm guessing this is a common problem?

Is the number plate light on the tailgate or the bumper??

try seating the bulb correctly first.

If it is on the tail gate there maybe some sprung loaded contacts and receptacle plates, one on the tailgate and the other on the cars body, give them a good clean with a green scouring pad to remove any grime and or oxidation and a wipe with brake disc cleaner or white spirits??

If it doesn't have these pop the bulb holder out of the moulding and clean the push fit conntectors and bulb contacts the same way as above refit and hey presto!!!!!!!!

If neither of these work a quick phonecall to a vehicle electrical specialist should have you sorted!!!

Hope this helps?

Ive noticed this too.... more commonly on my own car!

Whenever I put the back wiper on it either starts wiping as you'd expect, or spazzes out ans stop halfway across the window. Same with when I turn it off, it sometimes returns to its resting position or again, stops halfways across the window :) Not a problem tho, I just have turn it on and off again and it works :) xx

Thank you very much, thats some good advice :)

Never had any problems with the rear wiper though - mine likes to be different and have a numberplate light prob instead!
