Hello all, I have a 1999 avensis 2.0 td estate, I lost the only key for the car and had to replace the whole lock set with ecu as toyota could not program a new key, well a second hand set cost me £150.00 compared to toyota who wanted £1500.00, i changed the whole set, and now the car starts up fine, runs for around 10-20 mins then automatically swithches off, exactly after 5 mins if you try to start up, it starts, took it to a couple of people who suggested it could be a faulty ecu that i bought, the parts dealer who i purchased it from suggested i take the car to his reccomended garage, and find out if it could be the ecu, so he can exchange or refund, anyone out there had any problems like this, any advice or recommendations would be appriciated,

Well i ended up taking to a garage with a diagnostics computer, who charged £25.00, to check what it could be, reading on computer ended up showing, code p1225, spill control circuit mailfunction, this is located in the pump, well was shocked, car was ok before i changed the locks with ecu asked around for prices £500-600 incl labour, for recon unit, well i found a seconhand unit from a toyota parts dealer who offered £120.00 for supply and fit or £70.00 for just supply, a BARGAIN :toast:
