Crazy Insurance Prices

Just a quick heads up on this topic with particular regards to renewal notice and policy run-on

Over the last two years my previous insurer failed to provide me with notice of policy renewal terms at the appropriate time and as a result the policy automatically renewed.

The first time, last year, the cost was, well a bit more expensive, but acceptable. I contacted them regarding the issue after the premium payment showed on my account and they could only apologise for the renewal notice which should have arrived six weeks (roughly) before renewal and the policy document, which should also have been sent for approval before renewal , all of which did not arrive until three weeks after the renewal date.

The cynic in me, mainly due to the absurd amount of time spent trying to find out why this policy had been automatically renewed without consultation or advice got a little bit seriously peeved when it happened again this year, and the price hike was nearly 35% higher.

I cancelled the policy immediately after a quick trip to moneysupermarket.com and signing up with my present insurer.

I'd be exceptionally surprised if this had only happened to me . . .
