Unlocking Gen7 With Keys

When the car is locked (using the key fob - one click) I can unlock it with the key, but when I open the door the alarm goes off. I know this is mentioned in the user manual but it doesn't tell me how to resolve it! (not that I can see anyway)

Is it possible to unlock and open the door without setting off the alarm? What would happen if the key fob Battery ran out, or malfunctioned when you had no access to your spare? I am probably doing something stupid, but please let me know oh wise forum.

The car Battery seems fine, unless I'm missing someting. Car starts evertime. Is everyone else able to unlock and open their car buy using keys alone? Or is this a strange feautre of all celicas?

thats normal, if you lock the car with the key.....wait for a little while and then unlock again with the key im sure the alarm wont sound.

if you lock the car with the keyfob and unlock it with the key then the alarm does go off as normal....pretty sure this is correct.

So you set your alarm, then expect to be able to unlock the door with the key without the alarm going off! That wouldn't be a very good alarm would it.

If your key batteries go flat, then IIRC you open the door with the key, the alarm goes off, then you switch the ignition on with the key and the alarm will stop.

Though one car I had a few years back also had a reset button in the door frame; I don't think that was the Celica. Was it?
