Removal Of Gauges

Hi everyone,

During the many hours I've been stripping out my car, I've come along the problem of removing the gauges and dials.

I have undone all of the screws and clips and taken off the cover but the unit seems to be stuck, or still screwed onto something.

Can anyone help here?

As always, all help is appreciated.

Cheers,

KPARRIS-JONES

Are you trying to remove the dials?

Behind the clocks youl see loads of plugs (white), Pull them out and their will be a speedo cable that goes into the dials. Its a fidly job to remove but when thats unclipped it should all come out easily.

But be warned getting that speedo cable back in is one ***** of a job. Youl have to remove the speedo cable from the gearbox then pull it from the dash, then you'l find it a little easier to get it back in.

Why do you want to remove them anyway? Seriously, dont bother getting that speedo cable back into the dials is a pain in the *****.

I need to remove the dash to get it reupholstered so I guess I'll need to deal with the cable unless there's another way.....

Thanks for the help,

Yeah its quite easy doing all the rest of it, but actually coming to the speedo cable is pretty hard,

and like said to put it back in as i found out when i was changing my dials fitting in the white ones.
