Do they sound any better when you're in the back? They are directed laterally accross the back seats, so from the front you won't be able to appreciate the sound definition.

Also, don't mistake bass for muffled : the rear speaker are much bigger than the front ones and so have a better bass response.

I don't know which year a "57" is from, but if You've actually got REAR Speakers instead of an extra pair

of Speakers in the front door, connected to the rear outputs it's not that weird that the rears sound muffled.

The fronts (near the windshield) have a set of tweeters connected, the rears don't, so they

miss a bit of frequency response in the higher (read "crispier") regions of the audible spctrum.

`Jan van de Wouw Hi Thanks for your reply,57 is the year 2007.My problem really is that if set my FAD control,to just rear Speakers, the volume is really low ie:-vol set to 20 you can only just hear them. Vol set to 20 for front Speakers and its quite loud, i thought that using just front then just back the volume should be roughly the same, hope this makes sense to you

aygo blue 2007

2 Speakers front near windscreen

2 tweeters A pillar

2 speakers in rear doors

Have you tried turning treble way DOWN and bass way UP and then using the fader?

Does this make any difference in volume between front and back???

Unfortunately I can't test this on my own car as I have an aftermarket radio in mine,

with filtering applied to the Speakers and a subwoofer under the passenger seat.

On top of that I've got my fader playing less than 20% over the rears, as I feel music

should come from upfront. At a concert no one listens with their back to the podium either...
