6th Gen Jap Celica Gt - Gearbox

Hey all,

I'm in desperate need of some advice and would really appreciate any help anyone could offer.

I was driving home last night and went to put it into 4th gear and it wouldn't go in. All other gears were working fine. Then 2nd wouldn't work and then 3rd wouldn't work and now the gearstick is really hard to move. Basically what I'm asking is, has my gearbox broke? And can they be repaired or is it and full replacement job? And the thing that's most worrying me that I can't seem to find out anywhere is, how much will this cost?

As I say, I'd really appreciate any help offered, I'm really worried about it.

Thanks :)

if it goes into gear with the engine off id think the clutch / pressure plate is broken.

I've now been told by a mechanic that it's definately the gearbox. Does anyone know how much this would cost to fix on an import gt? Anyone ever had one done before? Any info would be greately appreciated

Thanks :)

sounds more like a hydraulic problem you have rather than a clutch problem . its not very clever driving having to lift the pedal with your foot , have it seen to / check the clutch fluid level and the hydraulic clutch plunger.
