Corolla T-sport

I am new to the site and have a question about modifying my Toyota Corolla T-Sport, I am sure that most established members are tired of these posts but i would like some help!

I have seen a kit on the Blitz website that i am looking at getting. As i know absolutely nothing about this sort of thing (and this is the first car i will be modifying) i need some help.

I have seen a sonic induction kit with the following spec

Corolla 190, T sport, ZZE123, 2ZZ-GE - 01/01> - Sonic Power Induction kit, 190BHP models only (link below)

http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/ProductItem-245.aspx

Does anyone know if this will fit my car and is it any good? My registration docs say my car is a ZZE123(G) (2ZZ) model?

my second question is, when i bought my car, the dealer told me my car was a 140bhp car however after ALOT of investigation (before i bought the car) i came to the conclusion that the dealer was wrong and my car is the 190bhp model.

Do they make a 140 bhp model corolla t-sport?

Thanks in advance for the replys.

Welcome to the club

There is not a 140bhp Corolla T Sport in existence!!! Dealers know very little about our cars! ;)

Options for induction kits are the Blitz you found, K&N Typhoon & A'PEXi Power Intake

We're having a RR Day shortly so should get some idea of actual gains from the kits

I am guessing a RR day is a rolling road day?

I will look forward to the results

Thanks Norfolk N Chance

sounds like dealer got confused with the fact there is two 1.8 engines that go in the celica one is 140bhp and one is 190bhp and one of these engines also goes in to the corolla t sport which is the 190bhp engine

I have just ordered my Blitz sonic induction kit now so will update the post when i have it fitted. As i am not a mechanic (of any nature) it will be when i have paid someone to do it! :crybaby:

i really would want to come as iv played around alot with my induction kit, and i have felt a noticable difference.

I bought a custom heatshield, and bended it around the induction kit, it didnt kill cover the whole induction kit and didnt restric it in anyway however it did stop a large ammount of hot air warming the intake up. Where the filter was not covered by the heatshield i placed my cold air feed right next to the filter and had it sucking in cold air from under the car facing the front so the air scoops straight up the pipe ;)

i feel more pull in every gear and before when i just had the induction kit in with no heatshield, the typhoon sound would die and the car would start to feel slow after a while, when i checked the induction kit it was warm. I think a standard air box may be more restrictive but it keeps the hot air out. A good panel filter and a second cold air feed to a standard air box would give soem very good gains i would urge someone to give that a go aswell.
