7a-fe Engine Help!

hey people,

i've just bought a '95 gorolla gxi the engine in which had decided to put a rod through the block. i need to know what my options here are, is an identical block used on another engine? i've been told a 1.8 from a carina wil do. all help appreciated!!

Hey,

Yeah you can use the block from a 1.8 carina E, or out of a 95-99 Celica 1.8 ST, as they're all the same engine with the only difference being the inlet manifold and some have the power steering pump located in a different place... so you'll have to use the inlet manifold off your old engine...
