I just bought a 2003 Rav4 3dr 4x4 from a local used car dealer. I have only had it for a week and the other day I noticed the the clutch has started whining while engaged... should I be worried? I will call the dealer I bought it from as he has given me a 30 gaurantee but am I would like to know what it "might" be before he tells me it's nothing.

thanks.

Petrol. thanks I'll read the DMF stuff.

Hi again. The petrol version doesn't have a DMF so you can relax on that one!!!!

if its whining when engaged, its better to get the garage to check.

Doesn't seem to have any mobility issues, just the whine as the cluch is being used.

Thrust ? (clutch release bearing)

Almost certain.

Does it do it if you just put pressure on the pedal or otherwise how far down do you press before it starts?
