Ok then hope this is just a small problem or my wife hearing things!!!!!!!!

I never get to drive the new car (t180 with 11300 on the clock) the wife uses it every day!! Thismorning I get a phone call at work from her (on the bluetooth thing in the car) to say when she shifts into 2nd it gives a warning bleep????

So me being me I got her to text me the descriptions of what she did and what the conditions were!!!

1. OAT -1 degrees

2. Engine had been running for minimum 10 mins

3. Operating temp half way up the scale (as is normal)

4. Travelling at approx 10mph when 2nd was selected (up shift)

5. Acceleration was gentle

6. No other indications noticed

I have no idea and havent found anything on the subject!?

Has anyone experienced it or heard of it?

Would appreciate any ideas or help!!

The car is probably fed up now with only your wife driving it. It's a man's car and so it's speaking to you.

Buy her a pink Aygo, take over the T180 and it will stop bleeping.

Sorry I don't have a sensible answer for you.

The only time the car ever beeps at me is when:

1. Passenger seated but not wearing belt

2. Low fuel

Cant even recall VSC beeping when it comes on. So no, i cant think of anything. Sorry!

  • 2 weeks later...

Was there anything placed on the passengers seat, as it only takes a small amount of pressure to make the car think that someone is sitting in the seat without a seatbelt on.

Maybe she put her purse/bag or laptop on the passenger seat and when she goes over a speed bump or accelerates heavily, stuff on the passenger seat makes more pressure to the seat and the sensors are mistaken and think that there is a person sitting in the passenger seat.

I know it sounds stupid but it happened to me with the groceries; got it at the 2nd beep when I saw the warning light.

Same thing, happens all the time when I'm travelling somewhere with our family's dog on the passenger's seat

And everytime my first thought is: s**t, running out of fuel, AGAIN!? :D

...or maybe low fuel level. When the car turns the level changes and sometimes can "beep" shortly and then goes away till next time when big LOW FUEL sign blocks your display.
