Bluetooth Connection.

Good afternoon everybody. I am a RAV T180 owner of 3 days & in in need of some advise. I seem to be having trouble with the bluetooth unit in the car & the dealer knew less about it than I did - almost unbelievable but true. I have a number of cars with different systems in them - 1 an aftermarket Parrott and Audi & Ferrari with a built in systems. All work by me 'pairing' the phone to the car once & then every time I get into the car it connects automatically.

On delivery I asked the dealer to help me 'pair' the phone to the car because I had not used the menu before on the Nav unit which he did. However, every time I turn the car off & then re-start it tells me that bluetooth connection has failed. I found that another phone was selected on a page the dealer had not shown me so I selected my phone but it still fails. Effectively, every time you get in the car you have to search for the connection manually. The phone by the way is a couple of year old Motorola Razor & could do with replacement but it seems odd that it looses the settings - am I failing to save something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Marco

Welcome to TOC

Try doing a search, there a few threads on this, and I am sure it will only work with certain phones.

The 3 phones that i have had paired up to my unit have always kept their connection. They were Nokia 6820,Nokia N73 and currently a HTC TyTN II. Can't remember what I did, but it would have been just following the instructions on the screen.

Hi Marco

I have just been reading about your problem with your bluetooth. I have also had this problem with a Motorola Razor Phone, and persevered for about six months. I eventually gave up and bought an iPhone. I have had no problems whatsoever with this phone and the bluetooth connects every time.

Hope this helps Jim

If the head unit saves settings of other phones would it be a setting on RAZR? I had a RAZR paired with a parrot unit and it worked fine but I seem to remember you have to set the phone to connect automatically.
