Nurbugring Anyone Been?

The 'ring' has now become a gathering point for complete and utter twits. :ffs:

It has now become full of 'rich fools' who do not give 'two hoots' if they wrap their car up ...

...or slam into somebody elses 'pride and joy'. :ffs:

I remember a Forum (not this one!) last year where some idiotic moron proudly declared how funny he thought it was that he'd smashed his Toyota Supra up ! ...and how he wasn't to bothered because he had another waiting that he was going to take over in two weeks time !!!

You (like me) are probably proud of your car/cars and had to work for it and take care of it so my advice is keep well away.

Sorry for that rant (and no I've not come to grief on such a place. :D

As a side note it's not just Nurburgring that has gained a bad reputation - places such as Monza in Italy when they have 'open days' in the week have also attracted such 'nut cases'. Plus of course there are our own 'track day venuies' in this country - thankfully most are superbly 'policed/marshalled' but an event at Castle Combe a few years ago was an absolute disgrace :( - so much so alot of us refused at said venue to put our vehicles on the track during the course of the day and entant numbers became somewhat below par.

I always fancied doing the 'ring when I had fastish cars (Celica GT4 and Nissan 200SX) just to see what they would do, but like has been said, too many w*ankers with too much money to care what they do :(

I love the ring - my OH and I have been twice now and are already panning next years trip to take his recently purchased EVO8 round. :D It is a brilliant weekend away. Yes there are some tw*ts, but as long as you drive sensibly, keep your distance from other cars and get insurance then you have nothing to worry about. Anyone that crashes is damn stupid cos not only do you have to pay for recovery, and to repair your car, but also to replace the armco at £1000 a metre! :o So anyone that drives like an idiot has to have money to burn!!
