If a thread is deleted it might be an idea to tell the originator why.

I agree with you there mate. It was a bit harsh to just delete it!

I did not see the offending post that you are refering to,................ however I can only assume that it was either removed or boxed as it may have been seen as moderator bashing, which, as you very well know is strictly against TOC terms and conditions.

BTW why have you posted this in the Corolla section?.....................I do not look in here very often.

I must check in again......................Its always a bit lively with you Corolla owners :P ;)

How does this heirachy work then?

Do you just need to have a certain amount of posts to become a super moderator or can you just get promoted to one by another even if you have only made a couple hundred posts?

And what level of authority do you have as a super moderator? Can you close and delete any thread or forum when the feeling takes you or do you needo have certain permissions?

I wasn't mod bashing i simply made reference to another thread that ran for ages without being closed.

The BP thread went slightly off topic and was closed immediately.

Just thought closing it down was harsh so i asked the question why in a new thread that was deleted.

I closed the BP thread down as it had gone from a request about alarms going off to the price and quality of fuel and on to favourite cheeses

It had drifted way off topic so it was closed.....................Could you imagine that if someone was searching the forums for problems with alarms and they found that topic, only to find that virtually none of the posts refered to the topic title.

Moderators on here do that sort of thing as if they did not the forums would become very messy.

Please note that when I closed that thread I explained why prior to closing it....................It really should not need any further discussion
