can someone please tell me how to turn o/d off? as soon as i hit more than 60 miles the car shakes as if changing gears. first i thought i had a flat tire then i noticed this sign said o/d off, i didnt even know how it appeard there.

i have an avensis automatic gls hatchback.

The button on the right hand side of the auto gear selector (underneath the main button you press when moving the stick) is probably pressed in. Try pressing it again to release it. ( found on forum )

I think you have a bigger problem than that, at 60 even with the O/D off you should still be fine, all it means is your driving in 3rd gear at 60, this should not have any increase in vibration just a little more engine noise.

Shuddering at around 60 is usually a sign of bad tracking or warped brake discs.

thanks a lot it did alarm me and i thought it was something serious. will get it serviced asap does this mean i should give it a bit of a rest until its sorted?
