good morning all.

i was wondering if anybody could help me with my avensis vermont 1.8vvt-i. its just on 57,700miles and its a y reg 2001 model. my light has come to stay on now despite having the 02 sensors replaced. when the tank is empty i use redex and then fill up the light will stay off for maybe 100 miles before coming on again. there is no difference in driving the car its great on fuel almost 400 on a full tank. it uses alot of oil and its getting an oil replacement on monday and engine flush. i just wondered if its an mot failure with the light on and any ideas on how to sort it out. cheers daz.

If you are using a lot of oil, this may be playing havoc with your oxy sensors. I shall post a link at the end of here for you to have a look at and see if you can get Mr T. to give you a new short motor (I have had one myself and not a penny to pay  ).

Hope this is of some assistance.

Don't let them fob you off when you are entitled to an extended warranty repair. Read the article on the link and try another dealer if you have no luck with the one you already tried. Contact Toyota customer service if you are not happy with them. There are plenty of postings on here on the 1.8vvti oil burning subject, check them out and give that dealership some flack. Good luck.
