Nothing against the TTE silencer, but its so pricey, so its cost I got a new exhaust system on my car and it adds more performance than just the back box. Check out Longlife exhausts they were awesome for me.

the only reason i am after a tte backbox is because i dont want something that is too loud and get on my nerves! lol and the tte backbox sounds just right. you are right it is prices rather stupidly but if i can get a decent price for one i will go for it! lol

mate its worth a try looking at eBay for the tte backbox which is listed for a 2.0litre d4d corolla but it will also fit a 1.6.

i know yours is a 2002 1.4 but its worth a try cos i just purchased a tte backbox off eBay which was for your model but it fitted by 2005 1.6vvti perfectly!

if its not direct fit you can do extra welding work to get it fit. just cut the clamp off on the end and fit on the existing clamp on your original backbox and it will do the trick!

brand new tte backbox = £250 approx.

its listed on eBay at £100+£20 for postage = £120

extra welding will be about £30-£40 = £160 total

thats a saving of £80-£90

well worth it if you got the money

thanks 4 the info i have seen that on eBay for a while nw but the thing is that i am not sure if diesel back boxes are ment to be put on petrol cars because i am sure they have a diff system and flow pattern inside 4 the petrol engines???

cheers for the help, i am going to put an offer in and be a bit cheeky with it see if i can get it at a lower price! it has been on eBay for like nearly 3 weeks. i will let u know what happens with my offer. if my offer gets accepted i will force that exhaust on my car no matter what! i done it to my previous car which was a golf an fiited a peco exhaust which was for an astra! lol

yep thats right an exhaust from an astra! just took a bit of beating from the old hammer!,pipes, welding and there we go lol.

my offer got accepted for the TTE BACK BOX on eBay, £80 with postage which i think is not too bad but no where near to your price £25!!!! was your one new or used? lol

i cant wait till it comes and get it fitted on some how! lol :)

best thing is to take the part to an independent mechanic and NOT kwikfit.

tell the mechanic that you bought this box for your car but you were told that in the case it doesnt fit then the clamp needs to be cut and replaced with the existing one on your standard exhaust box.

thats what i told the mechanic and he said 'ok no problem' (in a polish accent )

job done in 2hours :D

soon as it comes i will have a go at fitting it! i dont use kwikfit there a load of sh*t!!! if i cant fit it i will then take it 2 my mate who has a garage! but i cant wait till it comes tho!!!

so i see you got your backbox finally? only brackets need modifying to fit? wow! that means the box will fit direct too?

im starting to think all these part numbers are just complete bull**** seems they will fit most models of corollas with only slight modifications required.

I got my TTE back box fitted 2day!!!!!! The brackets were fine, the shape of the pipe, the only thing that needed doin was needed a bigger bolt to clamp the TTE back box to my existing system!!! :) and it only cost me £25 to get it fitted, i would of done it myself but tooo cold these days to get under the car! lol

also i am getting the burning smell aswell lol

but ye looks like part numbers mean squat as these fit any corolla with minor modifications required.

looks good just like mine! :P you got the slight lopside on the right pipe where it hangs slightly lower than the left side just like mine too lol

enjoy the nice sound mate. it will sound quiet at first but after a few days it will get better

cheers 4 the info, yeh i am i also going to buy a replica i cant afford 2 buy the TTE one at a stupid price that they retail for! lol

i already have a front lip, all i need is a rear spoiler for now and i will buy the side skirts and rear skirts later when i have some cash saved up! lol (i'm a student lol)

also if you come across any tte lowerings springs plz let me no if your not interested in them thanks.
