Inside Door Handle

I tried to get out of my car today, but my door handle doesn't work anymore, its like the door is locked, but its open!!! I have to wind the window down then open the door from the outside then wind my window up to get out, a real long process.

Can anyone help me fix this problem? I took a screw out near the handle but it didnt do anything, so put it back. Is there a simple solution or do i need a part?

Sound like either the door handle cable ahs snapped or come out of its fixing.

You will need to remove the door card to take a proper look though, i did one last week and the end (small ball) had snapped off the cable.

Required a new cable fitting - not really a hard job.
