I was wondering what the space is like in the car? for both the back and front?

I would require to fit a car seat in the back of the car for my little sister, and live out in the countryside, Would this benifit the Aygo as i would have to travel 60mph and i've heard it can be quiet loud?

I Currently have a peugeot 106 which is a 1.1 and was wondering if anybody has an experience of both the 106 and aygo and what are the differences?

If something goes wrong are the parts cheap to purchase like the 106 or are they much more epxensive?

Cheers

I regularly do the school run with a 13yr old, a 10 yr old and a 7 yr old all in the car with me, (7 yr old on a booster seat behind me) all the schoolbags fit in the boot

we manage perfectly and speed is not a problem, even with a bike on the roof for cycling proficiency test days!

Nope, I don't find it loud at all. Not even at 90 mph. Still, at 110 mph it's a bit loud :D

On the other hand...

It's good to know Theirs plently of space, is this in a 3 door or 5? I'd prefer a 3 door just because i like it looks smart and being younge i don't have a whole family to carry around.

Cheers, so it's not loud :-)

Sorry everyone but it their many body kits around? I want something with a bit of street credit being younge and all that, Don't worry i'm not a "chav" i like the concept version of it (Link {CarEnthusiast.com}) And was hoping to replicate that design if possible.

Mine is a 3 door, being 6'3", the five door front doors are too small for me!

I have the 5 door version. It's easy to pus something in the back if you are in a hurry and need to re-arrange the boot space (mine is usually filled with junk).

About the body kits: that was the Aygo crazy, 1 of. Besides, 17" rims is too much. First, get the car. Tuning after :)

I've had 3 adults in the back of mine :o

It looked a squash, but they all commented on how much room there was (especially as it's clearly only meant for 2).

I've been out for a trip as a rear passenger in my wife's Aygo and was incredibly comfortable : loads of room B)

I couldnt get my nieces car seat in the back of mine with me driving as the seat was all the way back (I'm 6'1") there was no where for her legs to go, also with the 3dr car its not very easy to access the back seats, in case of an accident i would want a child in the back given the difficulty with access.

Compared to a 106 i would say the noise is similar at most speeds below 60 but the aygo is quieter above, however the ride is better in a 106. The missus used to have a 106 independance. saying that though i would want to have a crash in a 106.....instant death i would imagine! In fact a friend of mine spanked a 106 GTI square into a tree when i was younger and it split the engine and gearbox into 2 parts and broke his legs..........

To drive, a 106 (non-GTI) is completely different as its very rolly poly french in the corners where as the aygo rides harder and will push into understeer quicker, The aygo's engine is much more responsive and torquey and the gearbox is alot better, however the 106 probably has the legs on the Aygo when you get it really wound up, and it wont loose speed as badly on motroway hills. Point to point the Aygo is a quicker car along a country road and is much more fun at the same time.

Hope this helps, I know some people on here dont rate the aygo, but i loved mine to bits, it was brilliant, never gave me a problem.

Good luck!

Cant comment on parts as mine never needed any!

I'm always amazed how peoples views differ so much.

To me the Aygo does not understeer but then again I did used to have a Renault Clio 1.4 automatic. My Aygo has 205/40 tyres on as well which probably helps as does 15 stone of driver in the middle of the car. It does roll though. The suspension is hard ( shocks have too much damping with the shock absorbers?). Also driven enthusistically it does compress the springs too much at the back with passengers aboard (springs too soft?).

The engine needs to be revved but has lots of character. That was one reason it won the latest Evo test against a Fiat 500, new Ford Ka and some Korean pile of poo (actually it was the C1, but it's just the oo la la version of course. They did not report it understeered either, hmmmm....

The doo is probably quieter than the 5 door as the 5 door has little pop up windows that let the noise in, I guess the 3 door does not have those.

I bought the 3-door and wish I'd got the 5-door; getting people in/out the back isn't the easiest, and the 3-door doesn't look that much better.

I think your best option is to pop down to your local Toyota place with the car seat and see how it fits. And book a free test drive to see how noisy it seems in comparison to the 106.

Your own experience will be worth 100x what any of us post here.

It's a good point made! Although I do have people in the back comfortably, it is a pain for them to get in and out and the passenger seat has no "memory" of it's previous position. :ffs:

If you are going to be helping kids in and out, or frequently fitting/removing a booster or seat, then the 5 door makes much sense.

I do think the 3 door looks significantly better looks, which is why I went for it over the 5 door. But then, as I'm not a parent, there's no real practical concern for me.

As said above probably best to be getting the 5 door. I find it very useful when taking mates in the car since i dont have to keep getting out + the 3 door aygo drivers seat does not have 'memory' so wont go back to the position u want it too after pulling it forward.

As for body kits, there is no official one the same as the crazy but there are a couple that are fairly well known to the aygo oc.
