Anyone tell me what the emissions are on my car so that I can look up what next years tax is to cost me? Or if you already knopw the answer, then please buzz in.

Thanks

...and the idiots up in Westminster wonder why we are not all out shopping to support the economy! Car tax up, fuel (tax) up, gas up, electric up, food up, community tax up, train fares up... oh, and your house is worth 30% less than you paid for it last year and your boss is juggling a personnel list to see who can go. D'oh! :(

Thank gawd I have a Toyota... :rolleyes:

And for YOUR specfic car .... TOYOTA RAV4 2.0 VVT-i 3-dr

Next years tax from April is £210, same as mine (up £5 from this year) and will be £235 the next year I think

I'm looking for support to lobby for a road tax decrease for 3 door RAV4s. The basis is they are lighter and shorter =less space taken up on the road. And they are more aesthetically pleasing :P :P

I haven't chosen to use the landrover as an example as it spends most of its time in the garages.

Also have fewer hinges.

Sounds like a great plan , a 3 door RAV4 as a smaller footprint on the road, can be parked in a smaller space that any SUV , 4x4 or MPV on the market today.

talking about 3 Door RAV4.2's .......

How do they appear driving size-wise compared to a small hatch?

We saw a few on the road during the weekend as I was driving home from Coventry to Devon via London (so plenty of time to look :rolleyes: ) and got semi-tempted again by the idea of one for Mrs H with the higher driving style :g:

That sparks off another approach - replace the road fund tax with a Hinge Tax. Rather like many years ago when houses were rated by the number of windows. Seeing as Mr Darling and Mr Brown are both Scots, I'm sure they will listen.

Well, our Punto is on 25,000 miles and about to have its 4th clutch - proving that small cars are poorly built and have a carbon welly bootprint the size of Wales (Whales?) through the number of repairs needed!!! Not so the RAV4!

Please can you put a PG warning on this sort of topic, my poor old heart can't take it!

In Ireland, currently €590 a year for my 4.3 (2.0l) and €530 for my better half's 4.2 (1.8l)..... potholes in the road - free;

VAT just gone up to 21.5%;

special "income levy" (= extra tax) starts 1 Jan - 1% first €100k income, 2% next €150, 3% above that :o

can't eat the pork sausages, :chef:

can't afford the drink (now double the price of the same thing in Newry, in Norhern Ireland)

I am in danger of becoming a slim, teetotal and broke Englishman living in Ireland, all at the same time

Well, a 3 door rav would be to replace a Punto on 33,000 miles with no clutch replacements and no problems (except for currently duff sunroof) - and much better economy then a RAV - so in some respects, a silly thing to sell, but life is about more then saving fuel :)

So Bothy - does your RAV4 feel much bigger then the Punto to drive? (I think the RAV4.1 3-Door is very similar in size to the RAV4.2 3 -door? )
