I didn't know that.

I know that Quickfit charged me £20 or so to align my tracking after they said it was out. I happened to go to another place shortly after for some reason or other I don't recall and they actually snapped a spanner on the part that has to be undone for thre tracking adjustment as it was so rusted on, so I am dubious about many of these places.

A I've said before, I had number 1 RAV checked with a laser tracking/camber check system. I've watched the guys doing it and it is not a 5 minute job if its done right ....and yes, the bolts are often pretty solid and need to be loosened off. I think they spend an hour + on checking and re-checking. Each wheel gets a laser unit fitted and then these are lined up/linked up to the base unit whci shows up each wheels set up, relevant to the type of car. Ingenious.

FWIW, I just drove up to my office this morning - 130+ miles on all types of roads from B roads to Motorway, including some roads loaded with silt and mud from landsldies following the rain at the weekend, and was sort of monitoring my tyres and the car with respect to this thread.

So got a set of General Grabber UHPs fitted about oh, 3 months ago, and they performed perfectly - no sliding around or anything - near the end of my journey I decided to push the car a bit round some damp corners to see how well they held on - no drama at all.

So the only downside on the General Grabber UHPs I can come up with is they could be a bit boring because they work so well ;)

Pushed the beast a few days ago - and got understeer on a motorway slip road/on ramp. However at 5000rpm in 2nd with full throttle on a salted wet road, then I wasn't surprised. Of course, there was no-one else around !! This was the first time I'd got the Falkens to slip.
