..i saw two cables, one hanging down from the seat, and the other originated from the the floor of the vehicle (Toyota Harrier). Please tell me where these cables go and what they are for. Its also worth mentioning im not the original owner of the vehicle so i do not have its complete history.. any advice will be appreciated. Thanx.

Could be the seatbelt warning wiring... does it tell you to put your seatbelt on when you sit in it?.. if not it might if you connect the wires.

Hey, no it doesnt warn me when i dont put my seatbelt on, im sure thats one thing the one of the cable does. Can anyone be more specific as to what exactly these cables are for?

There are four things that you may have electrical connections to a seat for that I can think of ....

1) Seat Side Airbag

2) Pressure Pad for seat belt warning - this pressure pad may also be used to indicate whether to deploy a frontal or side airbag as well: no passenger..... no airbag deployement

3) Electric Heat Seaters

4) Motorised Seat Adjustment.

Hey, thats a very intelligent guess, so to point you in the right direction, the car has:

- No Seat Side Airbag.

- No Heated seats.

- No Motorised Seat Adjustment.

So one set must be for the pressure pad for seat belt warning. Can the other be a sensor for the steering wheel airbag? :help:

any advice will be appreciated. Thanx.

doesn't sound to me like you appreciate anyones advice,

without seeing any pictures and with your rather uninspiring description how can we be more specific?

and why would the drivers airbag need a sensor? surely if the car is moving someone will be sat in the seat? and if they weren't it doesnt matter if the airbag goes off or not, geeez

Don't sit on the seat when doing so - it could be the Ejector Seat connection (see if there are any dents in the headlining)

Hey, u dint understand me. I know theres some sort of connection between the airbags and the seatbelts. i know for example that the co-driver airbag will not deploy if the seatbelt is not worn, my question therefore was, are any of the cables responsible for this connection?
