Hi everyone,

I've been sniffing around fensport and their engine conversions and the 4AGZE has caught my eye.

It doesn't seem to say on the site whether or not it's a bolt on conversion or if there is a bit of bodging needed to be done like with the 3SGTE. :bash:

Could anypne here tell me if it bolts on easily or not?

Thanks in advance,

KPARRIS-JONES

First make sure that you can get hold of one of these engines. The last I heard is that Fensport are no longer able to supply them. You will also need the right ECU for the engine or a standalone ECU like a MoTeC. The biggest problem is the electrics - can take as long to sort this as it does to do the engine transplant. Also make sure you get the correct drive shafts for the differential - if you use the wrong ones they leak oil. All this and more on my web site www.ae111sr.co.uk

Thanks for the link and advice with drive shafts.

I'll take a better look at the site at the weekend.

Will fensport ever start supplying the 4AGZE again or it a full stop to production?

aha!me too i want this transplant ,the engine is the same apart from thicker stronger internals, mounts are the same ,the top mounted inter cooler that comes with will need a scoop unless u fabricate a front mounted intercooler but then u would need to mount that to ,gear box ,transmition and diff are all aout of the aw11 so should fit ,the wireing should be the same ,erm ecu from the aw11 aswell ,thats about all i know lol

but dont quote me on that i no jack realy ,youre best bet is to get intouch with AE 92 aka hellscream he has already done it and helped me a bit too

You should be able to pick a 4AGZE fairly easily... they come up for sale often enough.. check eBay, driftworks etc. The engine was fitted the the AW11 Mr2 and (with an uprated pulley fitted) is an absolute corker... especially in a little Mr2! The 4agze should slot straight in on your current engine mounts so its just wiring/shafts and ECU to worry about

Don't forget that this engine/gearbox/diff unit is heavier than the standard one that you will be replacing. You WILL need to uprate the front suspension - trust me I've been through a few versions myself and ended up with Cusco coilovers.

This engine was last produced by Toyota in 1995 and was replaced by the 4A-GE 20 valve. The cars that they were fitted into were only ever sold in Japan and the USA so these engines are all imported. The latest engine would now be 13 years old - that's why there are becoming rare. Fensport have stopped importing them becasue they were finding it difficult to find a reliable source of good engines.
