You could try cleaning the MAF sensor, as the K&N kits are oil based and sometimes affect the sensor.

Other than that you'll need to stick it on the diagnostic machine at a garage.

Not done it myself but saw this in the Celica section..

you will see a square little box sitting on top of the engine supply tube. The box will have 2 screws in it, just disconnect the connector and unscrew. Be carefull as you don't want to damage it.

Once out, spray with WD40, wait about 20 seconds and then gently clean with a cotton bud. Then do the reverse to fit.

Easy job, takes less than 5 mins all in.

Worth a go i suppose

WD40 is oil so cleaning it with oil doesn’t seem the logical answer if oil is the cause of the issue! I would imagine something like Carb Cleaner would be better, however i am not a mechanic so don’t take this as fact!

If the Cat is still playing up then the lamba sensor’s could be the cause of the poor idle and warning lights, when i had a cat go the car couldn’t breathe (for obvious reasons) and that affected the idle as the exhaust gas was heading back into the engine as opposed to leaving via the exhaust.

Seems a bit odd that the 2 issues have happened together and there not connected.
