'clattering' Clutch....adjustment Possible?

Recommended Posts

Some exhausts were replaced under warranty because the mufflers inside the silencer came loose and rattled. Maybe that's the problem. I tied the air inlet pipe to a coolant hose because it was rattling at idle

Sorry to bump an old thread but maybe better than starting a new one.

My 1.0 sport has started to be troublesome for gear selection. Fine when cold but after about 30-40 mins driving becomes harder to shift, when hot, especially reverse.

I'd normally be under the car sorting it but have just had an operation and can't move much.

So can anyone take pity on me and point me to any previous examples or causes.

I'm hoping it's bad adjustment causing slippage which would point to overheating but please tell me if i'm barking up the wrong tree.

Just rebuilt my bike gearbox and clutch and had similar probs on a bike before with a thrust bearing failing but it was more suddden and fatal to the clutch.

Aygo specific advice requested - Many Thanks

In the absence of any forthcoming replies, had it MOT'd at a Brake and Clutch "specialist" and asked them to look. I gave them the Toyota adjustment figures and left them to it. Picked it up and they said it was "A bit strange but we've adjusted it for you".

In short they adjusted it the wrong way (even tighter pedal) so when I got home I sorted it all out with correct pedal and clutch free play.

Drove half an hour and the free play was gone again and a rather worrying vibration coming from the clutch pedal.

It's now booked in with Toyota for a modified item £588 :o 29,000 miles.
