I just bought avensis 2.0i (1998) and i never had any experience with toyota engine.

just need some help:

1. What are the recommended brake fluids?

2. What are recomendded power steering fluid?

3. Do my avensis do not required to fill the gear fluid, since I dont see where can I fill it up in the engine area (3s-fe)?

4. What are the recommended for engine oil? I just bought SAE-10W-40 for adding up.

5. How can I know that my timing belt required to be changed?

6. How can I activate Econodrive function? In driver manual, no explaination for activating it.

That only featured on the 1.6 and 1.8 Lean Burn engine. The pre-vvti 2.0 3S-FE was regarded as Toyota's finest 4-cylinder engine by a few including myself, in auto form it was superb, far better than the newer VVTi engines for smoothness and quietness.

I think the belt needs changing at 60k or 5 years, there all listed in the service book.

I just had the timebelt changed on my 3S-FE Avensis for the first time. It has 130.000 km and 9 years on the clock. Don't think that time is a factor, but it's recommented to change it for every 60-100.000 km
