Average Mg On A 1.8 Vvti

What would seem to be a fair MPG for a 7 year old 1.8 VVTi?

I can certainly help you here:-

Around town (average 19-20 mph) = 33mpg

Towing a 1000Kg unit - 28-30 mpg

On a run (motorway 60-70 & careful with throttle) - 42-43 mpg

My 2002 model has had the new short engine replacement 3-4 yrs back (due to ell known oil issue). Always been really impressed with the fuel economy of these engines.

I've owned an 07 plate 1.8vvti for 6months, covering 4000miles so far. The computer, which I reset when I bought the car but haven't touched since, currently reads 42.5mpg.

According to rough checks I've carried out this doesn't seem to be too far out.

I do a 50/50 mix of town and A road (single carriageway) driving and regularly return 38mpg. I reset the av. mpg every fill up to monitor it. My average speed comes out at just 25mph due to the town part, on an 02 plate, 1.8 vvti.
