This thread should be pinned as a typical RAV4 posting so people know what to expect when they ask a perfectly sensible question here

We all know the norm is to read the first couple of topic threads then the other 100 or so  are anything about nothing related in particular....

There get that pinned in the top section for all to see....

whilst on the subject I bought new headlamps - the ones called angel eyes or whatever. It has a place for 2 headlamp bulbs - now - which is the dipped beam ? The outside light?

Then the next question is on the wiring - its too wet to go outside with a multimeter and the lamp plug is entirely different to the new ones. I've sussed out the sidelight connection - thats easy. Its going from the 3 pin twin filament lamp to 2 separate ones. Theres 3 wires all which look like the same colour due to the extreme 14 years of muck!!

I'm away to see the psycho this afternoon so maybe ask her??

You'll have to split the return and then just pick up the feed for the dip and main. Usually dipped to the outside.

Your psycho should know which way you are wired but scottish colour codes are different to jap

Typical NHS. Ask a question and get another question in return!

ME: How do you wire headlamps up?

PSYCHO: How do you feel they should be wired up?

ME: To work, probably.

PSYCHO: What makes you say that?

ME: Look, I came here to find answers!

PSYCHO: Do you often have difficulty getting to a solution?

At this it degenerated into a discussion about my drinking habits....and so I left without the answer.

From your answer above, I think I've got the return mapped out.

And I return to the Psycho in a month as yer not allowed mental health problems over Christmas.

Quite coincidentally I am a trained and qualified psych' nurse RMN and counsellor working in private practice.

I also charge very reasonable prices.

The answer that your psycho gave should have been do the lights wan't to work properly.

All therapists know that it only takes one sesion to change a light bulb however that bulb has to want to change.

Are you trying to say that i didn't get my GURU status because of my outstanding contributions, computer skills, electronic know how, + mechanical knowledge, Well if thats the case i am going to limit my posts as i think a GURU sounds much better than a TOP RANK POSTER. and SHCM is a fellow Guru and he is really really clever. :arabia:

Very kind of you to say so mate!:thumbsup:

Guru = Quality, not quantity, I like to think :lol:

Mind you, in your case, you are a GURU and you also possess the skill to turn products suitable to supply Ann Summers. One better than me.

Can you in your Guru-ness, recommend a cleaning product, to get your dog's saliva off the inside of my TFT? The display's getting a bit slimy.:thumbsup:

guru

its what my kids went through........

one guru to 5' 4"

The next guru to 5'5"

The next guru to 6'2" and the final one guru to 6'3"

I must admit that my perception of those with guru status on here was that they are small but still guruing.

For the record, I guru to 6'2" then started guruing outwards to a current 52" waste (no not waist)

:P :P :P
