just wondered if anyone has tried fitting the discs/calipers from the vw/audi range to a celica. Reason i'm asking is there's a set of 312mm discs and calipers lying on the floor in my garage at the minute thay came off a leon my brother bought for the engine and i took the brakes off before he scrapped the rest so if i can put them to use on the celica why not.

They're off a leon cupra and so are 5*100. I havn't looked any more into it yet though but just wondering if anyone has attempted it before?

Not sure on the motor insurance regulations in Ireland but over here the Insurance companies do not take kindly to "Non Standard" braking systems.

over here it depends on the company, some you just declare them as upgraded brakes and they adjust your premium, some you just declare them and it wont affect your premium and some (namely quinn) will require an engineers report for any changes basically that are not cosmetic

If you upgrade your brakes it can lead to a reduction in your premium ;)
