Newbie With An Old Rav4 Soft Top

Hello all.

Thought I'd better introduce myself as I'm asking for advice in another section. :)

The car is a 1998 Rav4 Soft top in blue.

Great little car which has given us 18 months of trouble free motoring, including a road trip to Ireland and some greenlaning.

It is a nice feature having the soft top - plus there don't seem to be too many of them on the roads so there's a certain rarity value.

There are a couple of downsides tough.

1) It takes quite a while to put the roof down or up as the windows need to be removed first and this can be quite tight and fiddly - I've lost quite a bit of skin during this process.

2) Only the lower part of the boot opens and there's a strengthening bar across the top of the door, therfore limiting the size of things you can get in the boot. Washing machines etc are a no-no.

On the plus side tough, with the rear seats folded, it's great for the dog - even with the roof down as she's got a nice flat surface and the sides are high enough so that she won't jump out.
