Antifreeze

I own a 2002 Camry with 26000 miles on it. Does any one know what the life span of the antifreeze is? Toyota's antifreeze is red colored which I believe has an extended life span of 60000 miles.

Hi Kenny,

Toyota's "Forlife Coolant" is pre mixed and you should only top with Forlife to prevent diluting too much.

Toyota normally recommend changing it at 36,000 mile intervals but providing the Strength of it is ok ( have it checked with a hydrometer)it normally protects down to about -30 oC.

The Forlife will change colour as it gets older/contaminated/detects combustion gas'es in the cooling system to a yellowy orange colour.

It is good stuff when the car has used it from new and I have never come across any Internal corrosion on the Vehicles I have worked on.
